ANSWERS TO COMMON QUESTIONS

Nearby Beaches in Cape Coral?
Since you will be in the Sanibel area why not have a trip over there one day. It’s $6 for the toll but you can park on the causeway beaches for free and when you have enough on the beach check out the unique stores on Sanibel itself. You would also find a wide choice of places to eat that are kid friendly, Cheeburger Cheeburger, Schnappers Hots, Dairy Queen etc. Other beaches on Sanibel cost $2 per hour so costs would soon add up if you went there. You might consider visiting one of the nearby state parks such as Lovers Key. Travel time approx 35 minutes, through Fort Myers Beach towards Naples. Some nice views. Park admission fee. $8 for the vehicle. OK so it’s not free but you get lots of facilities and the assurance that everything will be well maintained and beautiful beaches.
Do we need a car to get around?
Yes, you definitively need a car, but there are a few nice options. When you’re in a place as beautiful as The Beaches of Fort Myers & Sanibel, sometimes the journey can be just as fun as the destination. If you feel like exploring the area at a more leisurely pace, renting a bike, scooter or golf cart can be a fun and easy way to get from place to place. For rentals on Fort Myers Beach, visit Fun “N” Sun Beach & Bike Rentals, Fun Rentals of Fort Myers Beach or Quicky Scooters. To scoot around Sanibel, check out Billy’s Bikes and Rentals. Or, if you’re on Captiva Island, Yolo Watersports Inc. will set you up with a golf cart, scooter or bike.
How can I get from the International Airport to the Beach house?
LeeTran provides public transportation between 7:25 a.m. and 9:25 p.m. on weekdays and 7:25 a.m. and 8:05 p.m. on Saturdays. Sunday bus service is available from 7:06 a.m. until 6:56 p.m. Please note that bus service times change seasonally. This bus schedule is effective April 27th to January 4, 2017. Bus service is provided to a transfer point located at Daniels Parkway and U.S. 41. Connections can be made from that point to the remainder of the LeeTran routes. Where to rent to boat or ponton?
If you want to enjoy Cape Coral on the water, renting a boat, kayak or embarking on a fishing tour is a great way to experience all that this city has to offer. From a boat, you can explore the miles of canals surrounded by plants and wildlife, cruise around in the open water of the Gulf, or drop a line to catch some fish in the ocean. For the sporty vacationer, you can paddle around the mangroves in a kayak. There’s an abundance of options for boat rentals. From small power boat rentals to pontoon rentals, chartered fishing tours, and endless choices for watersports, Cape Coral has it all. Visit Fort Myers Beach for a day, park your boat at one of more than 40 waterside restaurant for a seaside lunch, and watch the breathtaking sunset from the water. The hot, sunny temperatures and mild winds make Cape Coral a perfect destination to enjoy by boat. While you can visit Cape Coral at any time of the year to enjoy the water and rent a boat, the late summer and early autumn months are the best times to go. You’ll avoid the tourist crowds September-November. March tends to be the peak busy season during the weeks of Spring Break vacations. The summer months of June-August have the highest amount of rainfall and can be uncomfortably hot. Do not pay for boat rental instruction! By law the boat rental instruction is a mandatory and price included service!
